Community Safety Committee

Join us for the Community Safety Committee meeting!  This month, we will be discussing the safety issues and suggested solutions raised at the December meeting and working on advancing some of the recommendations.  

All are welcome to attend.

6:10 Actions taken since our previous meeting: 

- Creation of a dedicated EPNI safety email account, [email protected]  

- Supplemental to 311 and 911 calls for our data tracking 

- Email us after placing any 311 or 911 safety calls 

- Relay safety related concerns not reported to 311 or 911 

- Issues for safety committee agenda consideration

Prioritize up to three community safety related projects we can all commit to:   A first step with actionable items we can realistically pursue and accomplish together to show our resolve.  This can later be expanded with other projects as well as help demonstrate our worthiness to attract outside help and investments.  Please consider some of the following criteria to guide us: 

- Volunteer based activities that can be collectively undertaken 

- Realistic in scope, impact, and the goal(s) sought 

- Leaders among us willing to manage efforts 

- Number of committed volunteers needed 

- Ease of participation 

- Proper scheduling with appropriate frequency 

- Seasonal considerations 

- Potential for business community participation 

- Priority projects might include neighborhood watches, block clubs, community alerts, safety themed Facebook groups, litter/graffiti/snow removal patrols, etc.
