2019 EPNI Annual Report

Last year was a busy one for EPNI!  We were busy supporting residents facing housing displacement, advocating for safe pedestrian crossings on 11th Avenue, hosting an epic neighborhood Art POP! block party, advocating for access to food, and much more.  Check out our annual report here.

Like what you see?  Help us sustain this work in 2020 with a donation.  We cannot do this work without the support of our community!

Hope to see you around the neighborhood soon!

Welcome EPNI Intern - Angela Gruber

Angela Gruber is a freshman at North Central University, beginning her post-secondary education by pursuing a degree in Marketing.  She is originally from St. Paul but looks forward to getting to know Minneapolis and the Elliot Park community in the future.  While Angela loves to explore Minneapolis, her other interests include reading and running.  After graduation, Angela hopes to work on a marketing team for a cause and company she believes in with a goal of becoming a marketing manager.  Please join us in welcoming Angela to the EPNI team!

Food Solution Update

The Elliot Park Food Solutions team has been continually advocating, researching, and engaging in outreach efforts to bring fresh affordable food into the neighborhood. Since the new year they have been actively recruiting the Twin Cities Mobile Market (TCMM) to make a stop in the neighborhood. TCMM has shown significant interest in making the Elliot Park stop a reality and has been excitedly working alongside the team to determine the best location and solidify details. Neighborhood residents can expect more information on the Mobile Market in the coming months.

The team has also been excited to continue collaboration efforts with many apartments in the area by hosting informational meetings at various properties, gaining support and hearing feedback. Since the Food Solutions Town Hall meeting last November the team has gained support from all over the Twin Cities, and even nationally. They have made connections from all over the US and are finding innovative ways to pursue a permanent solution for the community. They are excited to begin working closer with experts and interested parties to build a better understanding of potential opportunities and brainstorm creative solutions.
