NEW! Applications now OPEN for the Elliot Park Mini-grant Program!
Got a fun idea to bring your neighbors together? Weâd love to help!
Do you live or work in Elliot Park? Have a creative idea to help build community, share resources, or simply get folks talking and connecting more? Whether itâs something new for your apartment building, your block, or the whole neighborhoodâwe want to hear it!
Weâve got mini-grants available to help you bring your project to life. From game nights to garden projects to porch concertsâif it brings people together, itâs worth doing.
With your fun idea, letâs make Elliot Park even more connected!"
Elliot Park Neighborhood Inc. (EPNII) introduces a new Neighborhood Mini-Grant Program to partner with Elliot Park neighbors and provide funds to help make your project ideas happen. Get creative! While needing to work within project guidelines, the program is meant to be open-ended, and we welcome your ideas, as you know your community best.
Mini Grant Projects will be funded up to $500. Project examples include, but are not limited to, community events, classes, gardening, arts or other projects aimed to build Elliot Park and neighborhood connection and involvement.
All EPNI members (must live or work in Elliot Park, or represent an Elliot Park business/organization) are eligible to apply, although priority will be given to newly involved members. Projects must occur in the Elliot Park neighborhood, for Elliot Park neighbors, and be open to all.
Because the goal of this mini-grant program is part of EPNI's broader efforts to encourage new involvement, especially from historically under-represented communities, including Black, Indigenous, People Of Color (BIPOC), students and other renters, people with low-income, and people with disabilities -- priority will be given to applicants representing underrepresented communities and projects that help meet those goals.
Apply HERE, by filling out a brief form to tell us about you, and what you hope to accomplish with your Mini-grant project proposal. Please fill out the application below to the best of your abilities.
The priority deadline for applications is: Friday, May 30, 2025, with the first round of project approvals expected by late June 2025. Grant applications will be reviewed by the members of the Neighborhood Vitality Committee and recommended to the board for funding. If funds remain, applications can be submitted and reviewed on a rolling basis, until all funds are exhausted.
Contact us at [email protected], or call or text us at 612-234-2280, if you are interested in learning more about whether your project idea might be a fit for this program, have questions, or need help completing your application. Paper applications are also available.

EPNI Event & Project Reports - April 22nd Earth Day Clean Up

On April 22nd, the Elliot Park Neighborhood came together for a neighborhood cleanup in honor of Earth Day. Organized by Elliot Park Neighborhood Incorporated (EPNI) and partners, including the Downtown Improvement District (DID), the event drew over 80 volunteers who spent the afternoon picking up trash, recycling, and beautifying the neighborhood.
From 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, volunteers split into two shifts and fanned out across four zones in the neighborhood. At the same time a dedicated team, led by the DID, focused on clearing debris from tree planters, while others collected 27 bags of trash and recyclingâremoving the winterâs accumulation and refreshing public spaces.
After months of snow and wind, litter had built up in streets, parks, and sidewalks. The cleanup improved the neighborhoodâs appearance and helped keep the tree planters clean. A special thanks goes out to EPNI partners who helped make this event possible MPRB - Elliot Park, City of Minneapolis - Solid Waste & Recycling, Downtown Improvement District (DID), Kraus-Anderson, MN Adult & Teen Challenge, Mimecast, and Sherwin-Williams. This event would not have been possible without your help.
Looking for more opportunities to keep the neighborhood clean? Look out for upcoming monthly Neighborhood Cleanups & Sustainability Series, June-October, the third Wednesday of the month from 6-7pm, meeting at the Elliot Park & Rec Center.
