In March 2019, the City of Minneapolis approved a new Renter-First Housing Policy to guide City procedures, services and programming related to housing inspections and code enforcement, including renter engagement and legal actions. The Policy prioritizes the dignity, stability, health and safety of renters in regulatory and decision-making.
Regulatory Services staff have brainstormed many ways to continue to align and update our procedures, services, and programming to implement this policy and we would like to share them with you and get your feedback on what you think should be our highest priorities and learn from you what we might have missed based on your experience as a Minneapolis renter.
