The DMNA Safety and Security Committee is planning a Safety Summit for Tuesday, October 3, at the Mill City Museum. All downtown residents and businesses are invited to attend.

Exciting news! We've formed two dynamic committees to shape our community's future, and here's what they'll be working on:

  1. Land-Use and Transportation Committee: Are you passionate about urban planning and transportation? This committee will focus on:

    • advocating for inclusive development.
    • Fostering partnerships with local businesses
    • Improving transportation options.
    • Enhancing accessibility and walkability.
    • Address housing affordability by advocating for affordable housing initiatives.
  2. Neighborhood Vitality Committee: If you're all about making our neighborhood thrive, this is for you! The Neighborhood Vitality Committee will concentrate on:

    • Organizing community events.
    • implementing community safety initiatives.
    • Boosting neighborhood engagement and well-being.
    • Explore ways to make our neighborhood more eco-friendly, such as more green spaces.
    • Leading initiatives for community gardens, street art projects, or cleanup campaigns to enhance the aesthetics of our neighborhood.
    • Collaborating with organizations to address community needs like food drives, housing assistance, or mental health support.

These committees can serve as catalysts for positive change, addressing a wide range of issues that matter most to our community. By diversifying their initiatives, they can ensure a well-rounded approach to community improvement.

Explore Minneapolis Ecology 

Ecological System Plan online mapping tool illustrates the relationship between the park system and water, air, land, and life in Minneapolis

A new interactive mapping tool is available to explore maps included in the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Ecological System Plan. This customizable online resource can display more than 60 layers of information across four main topics: water, air, land, and life. 

People are encouraged to explore the map layers to learn about how Minneapolis' park system, public infrastructure, and ecology interact!

New Laws for Minnesota Renters

Statewide changes to landlord-tenant law are coming in 2024! Many of these changes are already being implemented in Minneapolis but will soon apply to renters across the state.


The Sahan Journal has compiled a summary in their guide for renters.

 


Safety and Security Summit

Shop the Mobile Market!

The Twin Cities Mobile Market continues on Wednesdays! You can find the bus at 1515 Park Ave. All are welcome to stop by and shop. The market has beautiful and affordable produce, meat, dairy, bread, and more.
